Tayburn House - Attractions

Tayburn House is the ideal base for walkers of all levels, who wish to have a short break in this beautifull part of Perthshire. Starting at our door, we can offer a range of walks, whether your preference is for nature trails, woodland walks, riverside rambles or spectacular hillwalks. Our packages can be for a number of nights and may include Dinner, Bed and Breakfast.


The little town of Dunkeld is one of Perthshire's gems. Nestling beneath thickly wooded hills, it's Cathedral and beautifully restored 17th Century buildings have an air of timeless tranquility.


Beatrix Potter is celebrated around the world for her Peter Rabbit Tales. Throughout the summer, The Birnam Institute houses a wonderful Exhibition telling the tale of this "Fascinating Aquaintance". The adjoining Beatrix Potter Garden magically recreates the lovely countryside which so impressed the young Beatrix. There is also a Beatrix Potter exhibition in the town's new theatre which is just across the road from Tayburn House.


Edradour distillery is the smallest in Scotland and is still operational. Entrance is free and their is also a free guided tour and whisky sampling session included. At the end of the tour you can visit the shop to stock up on supplies. Representing great value we can highly recommend a visit to Edradour.
